It was bitterly cold in the changing room, which had the effect of a cold pool. Child’s teeth were chattering, but as we paid to get in I guess I could not justify getting out after such a brief length of time. Slides were good, and lots of attendant life guards. Changing rooms were being kept clean.
Been here twice now, we aren’t local so we travel and stay in a hotel nearby with our two children but it’s great! They kids love it and have some much fun! Worth the money and water is warm too!
Such an amazing day out! 2 adults and 3 children 10, 7, 3 and everyone had fun. We went on a Sunday morning 11:15am there was a slight problem with parking as another event was on. We had to wait 25 minutes for a space. However, when we mentioned this at reception we were given adjusted tickets so we didn’t lose any time!The boys loved all of the slides, the wait time was 5 mins max. The toddler area was perfect for our 3yr old.The pool was clean and lots of staff present.We will definitely be coming back again!
I came with my toddler (23 months) and it was lovely, but the toddler area was so busy! It also was a bit splashy, which may sound ridiculous but as someone that doesn’t like water in their face, it wasn’t ideal. Other than that it was fab.
I do love this Centre as there is something for everyone – bowling, swimming, restaurants and they often have events on. The happy hour swim is also a great bargain
Nice been going to Barnsley Metrodome since it was Extra Terrestrial themed and I’ve always thought it was the best leisure swimming pool in South Yorkshire.The changing facilities and restaurant are ready for a refurb but on the whole, it’s pretty good. I’ll definitely return, again!
Nice and clean waterpark near Sheffield. We had a group of 4 kids (4,6,9,9 yrs)and everyone had a fun time with the rides and water play time. While there were only few rides, kids enjoyed sliding back to back. Plenty of life guards around so non swimmers felt safe as well.Only challenge was the showers weren’t working properly which made us wait for a while after the rides.Plenty of parking around.
Excellent facilities and the actual waterpark was enjoyed and loved by the kids. The presence of many lifeguards is reassuring too. Will definitely visit again
We loved our family Christmas trip here. The pools and slides were great. We had lots of fun.My only reason for knocking off a star was most of the family changing rooms were out of order, 2 that weren’t smelled really bad (like stale urine) leaving 3 usable ones. We really struggled getting our 2 small children washed and dressed after. The showers were also useless.I feel the changing rooms are in some real need for investment as they let the whole place down.The food in the little restaurant is pretty expensive. £35 for 2 burgers, 2 sides of onion rings, 2 cokes and a kids nugget meal. Personally I’ll probably just go subway after next time.

My kids loved this. Eruption (red slide) wasn’t working, Green and Black were. Expected longer queues for the slides, but wasn’t too bad even though the wave pool and normal pool were quite busy.Reasonably priced for 90mins and access to slides. Took my 2x boys (11y and 14y). Was a great morning and even I enjoyed the slides. Worth a visit if you’re reasonable local.
We went to the Metrodome Waterpark for the first on Sunday as a short stop on our way to Legoland, and loved it so much we stopped on the way back. The service was excellent, facilities very clean, the lifeguards friendly and approachable and very on the ball with safety and our sessions went like clockwork. We loved all the slides, the only thing I’d improve is maybe having 2 lines and signage, one for the Red slide and one for the Green and Black, as guests were organising themselves in this way with some direction from the lifeguards and it worked well, as most people were queuing for the Red leaving some capacity on the Green and Black.There was some debate about which is the best slide but for me it’s Black, love how fast you go!
School half term treat for our daughters. Here is a place that’s putting in proper effort, setting an example I wish my local Harrogate pool would follow. What a great venue! Ok, the changing village could do with a bit of a refresh but I’m clutching at straws here. The showers are hot, the cleaner is on it non stop, the poolside and changing area is warm, the water is a nice temperature, slides great, diving boards great, wave pool & big pool numbers managed, waves happened 3 times, we thought we’d be in for 45 minutes or so but time flies and we were in for the whole hour and a half having a blast! Best pool ever said 6 year old. She’s right. And the cafe restaurant in the lobby is just nice, we got coffee and cake, good prices.
Great place, with clean locker rooms and pools. Plenty of slides to explore and even a diving pool to enjoy. Taking one star off as they let in way too many people. We were there for opening time and the first 45 minutes were fine, but after that you could barely move an inch.Book your tickets in advance, otherwise you won’t get in.
Car park nearly full, but luckily found a place. As usual the staff were polite and helpful. Gym pleasantly quiet. Overall a very good experience today.
This is our favourite pool. There’s rarely any queue, the staff getting everyone through very quickly. The pool is spacious, good for kids. The toilets can be a bit icky in the changing rooms, but the ones upstairs are always clean so we go there instead, but generally speaking, it’s pretty clean. it can get quite busy on weekends, but you can always find a space to play.

Absolutely loved our day here. The lazy river is so much fun with family and a few rides but spectacular. Well maintained and friendly staff. I would DEFINITELY visit again. Do have a feedback though, the changing rooms get too cold, I noticed my 4 year old shivering within 5 mins of entering it. They should maintain the temperature there. Unfortunately no photos allowed. Would have loved to have some.

Great fun , good parking facilities, 2nd time here, I took 7 and 8 year old grandsons for the slide 1.20 height is the guild line . Fantastic slides and driving boards ( watch that belly flop it hurts) not on the website is a key to the wristbands which show you the colour of your stay I learnt it was an hour and a half but this isn’t mentioned on the website anywhere.
Fantastic day out for the family. Not over priced for the swimming and they limit the amount of people in the pool at any one time so it’s not overly crowded.Great slides, wave machine, children’s pool is real big with lots to do.In the centre there is an arcade and bowling alley we didn’t use them but they looked really good.On site restaurants serving a verity of foot there is a burger restaurant and a fish and chips restaurant.Great day out for all the family.
Great place. My daughter loves it here. Is £10 for 1.5 hours worth it. I think so.
The children loved it but the small cubicles and long queue for the slides made it less of a good experience.
The experience was awful from start to finish. The food was terrible, with nothing enjoyable on the menu. The slides were shut, which was a huge letdown, and the wave pool was slow and completely disappointing. The place was overcrowded, making it impossible to enjoy anything, and the wait times were ridiculously long. Overall, it was a miserable visit, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
We enjoyed our time there.It got busy quickly, so I would recommend going earlier in the day.Was a bit expensive for only 1hr 30min.Would like to have had more time in there because with one of the slides closed and the top diving board closed which made the wait time for the other slides/diving boards longer (eating up alot of your time there)Pound for the locker, which you do get back (if it doesn’t get stuck like mine did)Overall, it’s a nice treat to go but couldn’t afford to do often.
Was really enjoyable, they have amazing and decorative swimming pools that take your breath away good for both kids and adults due to the versatility of slides, diving boards and competitive pools. Although I had an issue with the staff as I am a a fairly decent swimmer and can do multiple length laps but was restricted to one of the slides without asking if I was a confident swimmer for an unknown reason
Good little spot for taking the kids if you live within an hour, good value for money, gets a lot of hype but wasn’t extraordinary. Toddler area perfect for younger ones. Not a lot for in-between toddler and about 7-8 year Olds. 90 min slot goes quick so make the most of it.
Went with a disabled child, who uses a kyle walker, had a very good experience. All the staff were lovely. I asked the receptionist if i could go down a few minutes earlier as it takes time to get my disabled child changed, she was very helpful, even informed of my of the lift available. The staff around the pool were great and kept an eye on my sons walker whilst he was in the pool. It was busy but that was expected because of school holidays. The changing room was very good and a good size for us. Would highly recomend. We booked tickets on line and you have a time slot.
Luckily found parking and minimal wait time at reception to get into the Waterpark, We had a fun day out in the toddler splash area, the temperature was perfect and there was enough features to entertain my two year old. The toilets were pretty unclean so wear swim y socks but the changing rooms were fine with a lot of cleaners accessing the areas and cleaning them. My only issue with the day was I took a swim float with a canopy attached for my two year old and she had a lot of fun in it, whilst we exited the kids area to shower and change I placed the float on top of the lockers as I noticed a few other people had done the same, we got changed in the booth and came out to my astonishment someone had stolen my daughter’s float. I was appalled! I went everywhere across the Waterpark to search for it and there was a lovely staff member who had assisted me in searching for it with no luck. It really ruined my experience! I’m so disgusted that there are people like this around anyway I guess look out for your personal possessions.
you really need to buy tickets in advance. Pool is showing a little of it’s age but still reasonably clean .food was good value for money. Would recommend that they season the burgers with a little salt as they had a good texture but the salt before cooking would bring a little more flavour out overall I would recommend
Had a great time in the pool, grandchildren loved every minute. No ques on slides, wave pool was fun. Every staff member we interacted with were friendly and helpful.
Kids loved it. I thought it was expensive and the place has seen better days. Its a bit tatty poolside. Changing area is fine but no hairdryers or seating. Needs investment. Certainly wouldn’t become a member. Also booking has to he done online which incurs a booking fee.

Took my 7 year old today, first time anywhere with slides etc, within 5min he says with a massive grin “Daddy, I love it here!” Decent price, nice and clean, great atmosphere. All in all, spot on.4 stars is a great review, I think it would need a few more slides/activities to make it 5. Excellent time all in all

Nice water park, a bit busy and too many people for the space available. Water is a little too cold in some pools.There is a designated baby zone.You have to book in advance to enter the water park. It was around £30 for two adults and a child, which I think is quite much but it’s a good experience.Overall it’s ok 👌

Seriously need to book and expect long queues. Best to go as early as you can in the day. They do 1.5 or 3 hour slots, 1.5 is enough time. If you can spend 3 hours there, their is something wrong with you.
The Little Fins sessions are great opportunities for babies and very young children to enjoy the pools in a quieter and less chaotic environment. Our 2 year old enjoyed herself very much without having to compete against much older children. £15 for 2 x adults and 1 x child is fairly reasonable too.I myself have been visiting Metrodome for over 30 years and I will echo similar reviews in saying it hasn’t changed much since then and is definitely in need of a complete refurbishment. Many of the pool tiles are chipped and very dirty and a lot of the decor is quite tacky and dated. I dread to think the last time the ceiling ducting was clean because it is caked in dust, which I find to be unhygienic considering they are directly over the pools. A huge investment and face-lift would completely transform metrodome.

Great place to take the family, perfect all ages, we’ve been going for years with all our kids.Plenty of parking, as with most places you need to book in advance. Onsite bowling with a few arcade games, sports bar and a fast food restaurant just off from the pool.The kids meals are great value, wouldn’t say the normal menu is but we go for the kids so it’s not a problem for us.
Everyone kept jumping in water where it clearly said so jumping no one stoped them. There was no place to sit and relax in the water and aftrr that my kid got the chickenpox…
Took my daughter and her friend here they loved it, the pools weren’t overly crowded and it took about 8 mins to get on the big slides. only thing my daughter was gutted about is that she only got 90 minutes haha,
Didn’t swim as it’s a25m indoor pool. But the centre looks great for kids with bowling and a restaurant. Central location short walk from bus/train.
Kids loved it, we weren’t packed in like sardines. But could have down with an extra half hour over the 90mins
All is fine, but one thing can be improved. When you just enter the locker room from the pool, it’s very cold. My child was very cold while we were changing clothes

Other than parking been a bit tight great way to kill couple hours, daughter loved it. Plenty to do there from swimming to bowling and a mini arcade coffee etc.
I’m 36. I used to go with my friends as a 12yr old. Nowt much has changed. I took my little kids and they loved it. Will take them again
Travelled here due to website images and wanting to try somewhere different. The diving boards were a fun element as nowhere else has these however the wave pool was barely on and the pools themselves are actually very underwhelming. The changing cubicles are pathetically small too.

I went to metronome to wat h my son fight the venue was really well tailored for and all staff were great.
Booked tickets in advance as said no walk ins. Was too ill to go and wasn’t allowed a refund. I’ve never known being unable to get a refund on tickets for swimming!!! Swimming for god sake.Anyone would think we were trying to get a refund on our mortgage or something. I appreciate it mentions this in the Ts and Cs but truly, who on this planet has read through full terms and conditions when booking swimming tickets…..The two people I spoke to on the phone had a major attitude as well. If they had been polite and friendly I wouldn’t have been that bothered to be honest. The customer service is shocking. Really unimpressed.
Okay but busy and sessions are far too short for the money. Fair to say it’s a ripoff. Miss the old local pools where kids were encouraged to learn to swim cheaply. Seems even swimming is now a luxury for the wealthy!
Kids had a great time and the staff were all really lovely and friendly. Easy to get parked and I didn’t wait long to get inside. Only con is that it was quite dirty in the changing rooms but that’s because other people visiting don’t know how to pick up after themselves.
Great watermark for all ages and caters for everyone , can use all areas , the wave pool and slides and standard pool for swimming . Family changing area is great x x

Booked online easily & it was reasonably priced, all parts of the pool / slides were clean & well maintained. A shame that one of the slides wasn’t working, although still running and didn’t appear to be anything wrong with it?!Unfortunately the staff let it down…One of the staff at the front desk (female – brown haired & wearing glasses) didn’t even acknowledge that we were at the desk in front of her, not a great first impression! Thankfully her colleague (female – blonde hair) became free and was much more friendly and allowed us entry! Same story inside, no one said Hi or even acknowledged people visiting! One member of staff (Female – blonde hair, late teens, working on the slides) was basically a “Jobs worth”, blowing her whistle relentlessly, sometimes for no real reason and all the time having a face like a “slapped A**E”! Another member of staff on the slides (female – brown hair, late teens, wearing glasses) told my 8 year old daughter she couldn’t wear her goggles on the slides, after being allowed on them numerous times already?! Not sure why this is even a rule?All in all we had a good time due to the slides and pools but with no help from any of the staff! Definitely something that needs addressing!
Took a spin here from Bradford (1 hr) with our Grandson’s and they had a super time !The wave pool was great, slides etc exciting , 1 1/2 hours of non stop fun 😁For the non swimmers there is a 2 level cafe & seating area plus other distractions.Prices fair , staff nice and all public areas very clean.Well worth the drive and highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant place for a family splash session along with numerous slides and diving boards, definitely worth the drive from Manchester to come here. It also has bowling, an arcade, a gym, restaurants and other activities so we will be returning in the near future!

It felt smaller in person when we were there. It was so busy when we went, it really felt at full capacity. I think if there had been less people it would have been more enjoyable. Saying that the kids had a lot of fun. We are in the cafe which was downstairs near the changing rooms. Food was good and the ice cream was tasty. All staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. Free car parking outside also.
Brilliant pool and slides, the diving pool is great for building diving confidence or just jumping in.A fun experience that really helps improve water competence.We had an excellent day thankyou.
Fab family morning!We went to Calypso Cove on a Saturday (2 adults and a toddler). Just to note, we didn’t try any of the larger slides, so can’t comment on those!Pros:- Fab space for toddlers as well as older kids / adults.- They have family changing rooms which makes life a lot easier as a young family.- The water is a nice temperature (not overly warm, but you also don’t feel cold when first getting in!)- Great splash park area for toddlers!- Upstairs restaurant has some good gluten free options.- Free car parkCons:- You can only pay for 90 minutes, which wasn’t enough, my toddler wanted to stay longer.- The downstairs restaurant didn’t have any gluten free options. – – – The restaurant upstairs did, however 3 sandwiches took 30 minutes to arrive for a take-out option (and no salad was included which it mentioned on the menu). We did get a free Malteser bunny for my toddler as an apology so assuming this isn’t the norm.- There aren’t many larger changing rooms to say it’s a family changing room.Overall:I would certainly go again! We had a fab time 🙂
Get there EARLY parking was a nightmare for us there’s over 4 car parks all of reasonable size but they were overflowing with some ppl leaving cars in places they shouldn’t..That said it was a Great day out with the kids, we booked a family ticket for access to the slides and had a reasonable amount of time in the pool there were queues for the slides but they clear quickly. Just be aware 2 of the slides have height restrictions and if you have young ones you have to queue with them which might be a concern if you’re there on your own with 2 kids that are at different height restrictions.

Lovely leisure pool to visit. Tickets are best bought in advance as the limit numbers in the pool. We paid £11.50 adults and £9.50 kids plus booking fee for 90 min.Drawbacks for me were: no lane swimming was allowed, it was sectioned off for members only but I wanted to swim too, the air is cold so when exciting the water to go up a slide, it was very cold on the skin, the queue time for the big slides is over 10 min, a long time! And the changing rooms are not big enough…we are queuing for a cubicle both on arrival and on leaving the pool. Showers are only communal so it’s not possible to fully shower properly. The cafe has a decent menu, the one on the ground floor, but it stopped serving food at 2pm which was crazy on a Saturday..We ate at the bowling alley in the same complex instead. It’s got a smaller menu but serves great fries made from real potato. However our meals arrived stone cold so we had to wait another 15 min for fresh meals to come out
It’s very good place. But feel it a bit expensive. £22 for one adult and one child. Then £22 for a kids and chips plus ice cream. Also I had a basic print out of a photo cost £12.
Calypso Cove is great value for money. It is well kept and pretty clean.Slides are great and queues were not bad at allOnly complaint inside is there is a lot of rubbish and dirt over the side of the slide staircase but only a very minor observationCar parking is a nightmare though, every time I have been there are no spaces
Great waterpark. My husband took my 5 year for the first time yesterday. While they were in the water I watched from the cafe where there is a little view of the poolMy daughter absolutely loved it.Slides to suit all ages.We will definitely be going back & this time I’m not missing the fun.
Had a great time here with two toddlers. Warm pool, clean changing rooms and great food after.Like some of the reviews say, The changing rooms are dated and they do STINK of urine. Especially in cubicals… That put us off. We thought it might be better in term time when it’s less busy, but it wasn’t. It was still really bad smell. But everything else was great!!

This was a fantastic venue for swimming, with a slick design of pipes at the counter where the staff checked us in promptly! The toilets were clean and so were the changing rooms, easily accessible with a proper amount of lockers. Slides went super fast and even included lights; one drops down like a penny spin which was adrenaline boosting! The wave machine is a fun touch too, in the pool that allows a swim to relax from slides.
Wasn’t overly impressed. Quite dirty and that just put me off from the start.Big pool for swimming and a dive pool,which was great. Don’t think I would revisit

Travelled over an hour to visit this water park as our youngest son is obsessed with pirates. Nice big car park , friendly staff on reception. We were really looking forward for our visit.Changing rooms are so dated and small.No hairdryersCameras in the changing areasShower was coldPool was so busy, there was constant noise from whistles the lifeguards using – honestly it was horrendous.Could only take our youngest son in a small area and it was so busy that you couldn’t really swim or move about. We left after forty minutes. We couldn’t get changed as a family as people were saving cubicles and leaving clothes behind to save them.Really gutted as we were really looking forward to our day out.
We went for the first time today, arrived early too early to go in. So we hung about the amusement area. L but there was no card machine to withdraw any cash which was a bit disappointing. When it came to the facilities and the pool it was Great the water was coloured for valentine’s day which was a lovely touch. My children enjoyed using the slides and exploring the areas. The only downfall was an alarm that kept going off.. which seemed to be an emergency one. But we couldn’t understand anything on the tannoy as it wasn’t coming through clearly. The lifeguards were very helpful and on the ball for any issues. It was a good day out. I’d recommend it at a less busy time but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We had such a great time here today. It wasn’t too busy and there was enough for the children to keep entertained throughout the 90 minutes.
Great for kids and big kids. Lots of activities. Flume rides wave machine and lane swimming. Very busy when I attended, so changing cubicles were limited. Lots of lockers and regularly cleaned. In general the place is looking a bit tired, but staff were helpful.
First time experience with a 3 and 12 yr old. Neither wanted to get out after the 90min session. In truth neither did my wife or me! Really good fun. Great mix of slides, fantastic toddler area and waves that were surprisingly strong. My eldest LOVED the diving boards, the 1 and 3m were open. Can’t wait to go back. Not a cheap experience at just over £40 but for what you get I think it’s fair.
Good fun but gets overcrowded on weekends…not enough family cubicles when loads leaving pool at same time.grandkids loved it !!!!

Only went here before football at oakwell had a couple of Guinness with my Mrs and 2 of my grandchildren, it was nice and friendly no problems. 🏴☠️ UTG.
My two children aged 13 and 2 seemed to enjoy it here but they really need to provide hair dryers for the changing rooms. We all left with soaking hair and it was freezing outside. We’ll not be using this centre again
Easily the best place to swim in Yorkshire. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid I’ve seen it refurbished into something people travel miles to visit… all lifeguards are great and trained very well, they are good with children that visit the pool. Fantastic management if there’s anything wrong these guys are on it 👍

Really great first visit. The kids loved the attractions, the lifeguards were very attentive and safety focused.Great slides and wave pool.Only downside is that the changing room smelt of old urine and the showers were a bit too cold.
This place is epic! Great slides and general family fun. Try the restaurant too. Pizzas are delicious.

Great leisure pool, fantastic slides vwry helpful staff. My 7 yrar old wants to leave four stars because he says the waves are too big😆😅
Great value, kids enjoyed the slides and pool. I’m amazed they allow outdoor footwear next to the pool, people had walked all kinds of ‘bits’ in.

Gym member here for several years, best gym around for the money IMHO. Loads of classes, swimming and steam/sauna.
Great place for all family friends and when the waves were my grandaughters loved it
The thursday yoga class is brilliant, the instructor doesn’t take it too seriously and its a proper challenging class
My children loved it. Definitely will be revising. Only down fall was the temperature of the water and the place. It was so cold. Even the baby pool wasn’t as warm as I’d expect my youngest was shivering most of the time. Didn’t stop him having fun though!

Booked in advance. When we arrived, the main pool was closed. Top diving board closed. Had I known, would not have visited. It seems they are only catering for small kids. Need to update the website on openings to avoid wasted trips. Came from Halifax.
It felt like there were too many people on the pool at once. It was so crowded. but apart from that it was a lot of fun and the water slides are decent.

Just went in while my grandson had a swim, the bar didn’t have any non – alcoholic drinks and the wrap I had was cold.
Good if not abit expensive. For the money they charge £40 for 4 people all slides should be open.One lifeguard said staff shortages meant a slide was shut .. should have extra staff
Being from Sheffield, this is the closest swimming baths with more than one slide, so we have visited quite a few times.Two large pools, 4 slides, and diving boards. My daughter loves it here. It’s a shame that the highest diving board has not been open for some time but gather there must be a reason for this.Personally I think the place is a little too crowded at a weekend. However, if they reduced the numbers I probably wouldn’t be able to go again, as most of the time we go at short notice.Price is just about right. Definitely not worth any more but at current price I would continue visiting.
Absolutely amazing place, my 7 year old loved it here! The customer service is exceptional (they changed my tickets because of a train strike). The changing facilities are spotless and all the staff are really friendly
Great options for all ages, from the baby & toddler pool, to the wave pool, diving pool & slides. Can get fairly busy but usually still a good amount of space too if you need it. The top diving board was shut when we went but the low & middle boards were still getting a lot of use. Good amount of changing room options too (family rooms & single rooms). Only gave 4 stars instead of 5, as some of the areas seem a little dated and could do with an update.
Been coming here for years, generally come when know local south Yorkshire children back at school. 13 yo still thoroughly enjoys it here. Appears clean and well maintained. £36 for 3 teens, 90 minute slot, whilst plenty of spectator space and facilities. Free parking. Book in advance for best choice of slots.
Took my kids here for a nice day out, we drove an hour and a half to get here and wasn’t disappointed, it was great. Not too many people there was plenty for both my kids to do, the wave machine was perfect. My daughters both loved the four Lane slide, will definitely make the trip again.
